Prof.Phadke

Prof. Phadke has helped me liberate myself..we just had a 2 day workshop at office on 'self-development'..Prof. Phadke(with a typical marathi accent, as my friend states) is a thin, short senior citizen.. It was when he started talking that we realised all his energy and authority is in his voice.. he dint have a great voice, but, his delivery skills were filled with stress patterns, intonation, loads of humor and more than 30 years experience that you just listen to him, no 2 ways about it..

He shared with us a concept in psychology, but more than that, he reinforced my thoughts about life, society and the rest of human kind..which simply is, 'i think and therefore i am'...or in his own words, 'i am a ship with a rudder'...I AM MY OWN BOSS!!! Not that i doubted these earlier, but, it just sets you free from all the guilt on your shoulders when it comes from him!!

The session was about reinforcing rational thoughts when clouded with conflicts with irrational thoughts through emotions & behavior by questioning them..i am an adolescent again when i remember the ways in which i questioned everything that was done..is there a sound & logical reason behind what i do/say/hear/feel? why cant i just enjoy the day instead of worrying about my present actions which might upset my tomorrow? i dont want to follow the same 'natural cycles ' in life, i want to be different / unique...

As far as i can see it, my generation is one helluva confused lot..we have 'modern' thoughts in a 'conservative' society...we make choices in life many a time that may not always be appreciated. Although i am content with my choice, my enviornment based on 'experience' decides a different fate altogether, and i have succumbed to many thus far...Prof. Phadke has liberated me today..

It is not what is outside of me, but what is inside that matters. The world around us always works to draw boundaries & set limits. It is left to us to take charge of our lives & gallop ahead on the path we choose to follow....for it is our life & we are answerable only to ourselves. At the end of it all, we should look back & be happy with what we made of our life.

Aparna the point that "I am a ship with a rudder" is very correct but its like a double edged sword....on one hand it give u
disposition to be a carefree soul and not get bound by the travails of dis "conservative" society...but on the other side i does imposes a responsibility on u,for ur not ALONE in this world but an integral part of this strata....u have a pledge of contribution towards it..for every step u take in present may have serious repercussions in near future...
Making the correct choice is the difficult part....
but then again wouldnt it take away the spice from our lives if there were no decisions to make or no responsibilities to uphold...???
lemme update dis.....
I think therefore i am......INCORRECT....
I can choose therefore i am.....

;))

And remember,"great ppl dont do different things but they do things in a different way"...

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ..U SEE!!!
